About Our Program
Welcome to CTCS Lion Basketball, a program committed to developing the skills needed to compete at a high level, as well as shaping the next generation of Christian men. Our program is predicated on playing with passion, discipline and in a manner that honors God.
Our basketball program has been blessed. Starting with fundamental instruction in our middle school, and building upon that foundation has allowed for tremendous growth and success.
Last season we played for a district championship, reached the playoffs and landed numerous players on all-district and all-state teams.
As we move into a new season we anticipate a season full of exciting moments, all while giving God the Glory.

Coach Johnston is entering his 4th year as the Head Basketball Coach at CTCS. He and his wife Morgan moved to Temple in 2016. They have a beautiful daughter (Lennon) and are surrounded by family and great friends at CTCS.
He attended UMHB, majoring in Mass Communication/Journalism as well as obtaining a teaching certificate to carry out his goal to be an educator and coach. He played football at UMHB, before turning his attention to basketball where he was able to become a student assistant. While playing and coaching he was able to experience Semi-finalist seasons in football as well as a trip to the NCAA National Championship in basketball.
Some of the most influential people in his life have been coaches. This is why he chose to be in high school athletics. The relationships built through athletics, with God at the forefront can not be found in any other profession.
